Having spent more than 30 years at the intersection of media, law and business, Michael Loeb now advises clients on strategic and legal issues relating to the media and digital industries. With extensive experience in the transformation of media companies, he places particular emphasis on practical solutions in his advisory work – ranging from traditional programme exploitation through platform and streaming models to digital business models and partnerships. His focus is always on combining business strategy, legal expertise and entrepreneurial implementation. As a certified AI Officer, he also advises film production companies on the use of artificial intelligence.

Michael Loeb studied law at LMU Munich. Following roles as a fully qualified lawyer in the legal department of WDR and as a radio presenter at WDR 2, he took on increasing leadership responsibilities in the media industry – including, in 2007–2008, as managing director of the production company Colonia Media GmbH, followed by over 25 years at WDR mediagroup, serving as CEO from 2008 to 2026. At the same time, he served, amongst other roles, as Managing Director of ARD Plus GmbH and held shareholder and chairmanship positions at Bavaria Film, ARD MEDIA and ARD Werbung. Since August 2026, he has been strengthening the LAUSEN team as Of Counsel, contributing his many years of experience in media and broadcasting law.
