Employment & Social Security Law
Employment Law – Clear Structures for the Modern Workplace
The world of work is changing rapidly – new working models, flexible structures, and digital processes are shaping everyday business life. This makes it all the more important to have a legal framework that provides orientation, ensures security, and creates room for flexibility and innovation.
We advise and represent employers in all matters of individual and collective employment law – with in-depth expertise, commercial understanding, and many years of experience. Our services range from drafting employment and service agreements to advising on restructurings and operational changes, as well as representing clients in labour court proceedings. Whether remote work, agile teams, or traditional corporate structures – we support you in developing legally compliant and practical solutions. This is how clear structures for successful collaboration emerge.
A particular focus of our practice lies on employment law in the media and creative industries. With our deep sector knowledge, we understand the specific employment law characteristics of these industries – such as the Tendenzschutz (editorial independence protection) in publishing houses or the application of the Collective Agreement for Film and Television Professionals (TV FFS) in film productions. This way, we combine employment law expertise with comprehensive industry insight.

Social Security Law – Old Rules, New Realities
Agile working methods, flexible project structures and digital models of employment such as crowdworking are shaping today’s world of work. At the same time, the Federal Social Court (Bundessozialgericht) is drawing the line between dependent employment and self-employment even more narrowly, while the German Pension Insurance (Deutsche Rentenversicherung) often clings to outdated patterns of classification.
As a result, the issue of false self-employment is more relevant than ever: incorrect assessments can have serious financial and legal consequences for companies. This makes it all the more important to conduct a sound social security assessment and to design contracts and workflows that reflect the realities of modern work.
We advise and represent companies both within and outside the media industry in all matters of social security law – from preventive status determinations to representation before the German Pension Insurance and the social courts. Our goal: to create legal certainty, preserve flexibility and minimise risks.
Our services
- Review and drafting of contractual arrangements to prevent false self-employment
- Development of practical tools and procedures for internal status assessments
- Preparation and handling of formal status determination procedures under § 7a SGB IV
- Representation in objection and court proceedings
- Social security advice for film, television and media productions
- Structuring of employment models (freelance work, project-based engagements, service contracts)
- Strategic advice on risk management and compliance for contracting entities
