Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a topic for the future, but a reality in everyday social and economic life. It opens up enormous potential for efficiency, innovation and value creation – but at the same time presents companies with complex legal, technical and strategic challenges.

Anyone who develops, uses or integrates AI operates within a highly dynamic legal framework. In addition to the new AI-specific regulation under the EU AI Act, a number of already established laws apply, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Governance Act, the Data Act and the Copyright Act (UrhG). These regulations must be applied to the new technology and embedded in corporate practice.

Our advice aims to reconcile innovation and legal certainty. We support companies in the legally compliant development, implementation and use of AI systems, from contract drafting to compliance structures. In doing so, we always keep the entire regulatory context in mind – including contractual requirements of cooperation partners such as broadcasters, streaming platforms, agencies or publishers.

We advise major German and international publishing houses, educational companies, film productions, broadcasters, collecting societies, music publishers and labels, as well as rights aggregators and software companies on their digital strategies and business models in connection with the use and provision of artificial intelligence systems, and on comprehensive employee training.
